Five Killed, Seven Injured in Fiery Crash on Enugu-Abakaliki Road

A tragic motor accident reportedly led to the deaths of five people when a mass transit bus caught fire near G-Hostel on the Abakaliki-Enugu expressway.

The incident involved a commercial bus traveling from Enugu, which collided with an obstacle, causing it to crash and burst into flames in the early hours of the morning.

According to reports, seven individuals were injured and are now being treated at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, while the bodies of those who died have been taken to the mortuary.

The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident, explaining that the bus accident resulted from an obstacle left on the road due to ongoing road rehabilitation work on the Abakaliki-Enugu highway.
