NDDC Accelerates Repairs on Owerri-Port Harcourt Roads

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, inspected repair efforts on the deteriorated sections of the Owerri-Port Harcourt Road, particularly between Umuapu and Umuagwo in Imo State.
The road’s poor condition prompted the NDDC to take swift emergency measures to restore its usability.
Accompanied by NDDC officials, Ogbuku received updates from the construction team managing the rehabilitation.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing road restoration in the Niger Delta through a presidential directive.
Ogbuku remarked that the NDDC’s proactive efforts aim to reduce the hardships faced by commuters and ensure long-lasting solutions to the road’s issues.
He praised the Federal Government for its timely response to public complaints about poor road infrastructure and commended the contractors for their commitment to delivering quality work.
The NDDC chief also urged community members and road users to exercise patience during the construction phase, assuring them of the Commission’s resolve to expedite completion.
A commercial bus driver, Mr. Kinsley Okorigwe, appreciated the NDDC’s timely intervention, highlighting the relief it would bring to travelers who had endured the road’s deplorable state.
