AIG form tactical team to combat Lagos-Ibadan highway insecurity

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for Zone 2, encompassing Ogun and Lagos states, Mr. Olatoye Durosinmi, has announced the successful apprehension of 16 individuals suspected of engaging in armed robbery, kidnapping, and fraudulent activities that have been causing distress in the aforementioned states.

“We are waging war against hoodlums.

“I have deployed tactical team to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to tackle kidnappers and armed robbers. There will be constant raids of their hideouts. We arrested some of the hoodlums along the expressway.

“Also, I have deployed police operatives to schools and some communities for the safety of lives and properties. Operatives arrested suspected armed robbers within Lagos and recovered weapons from them. Police arrested fraudsters who duped innocent people.” – AIG

During a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, the AIG Mr. Durosinmi assured the governor of his commitment to providing top-notch security services to the residents.

He emphasized that the security framework in Lagos State is a familiar territory to him, and he expressed his determination to ensure that the command under his supervision will diligently fulfill its duty to safeguard and uphold the peace in accordance with legal obligations.

“At this critical period, people should imbibe community policing to fight crime in our environs.”
