Possible increase of Fuel price in February – AA

Gasoline and diesel prices are expected to increase in February following the disclosure by the Automobile Association

Gasoline and diesel prices will increase come February. The change in prices will come into force within two weeks time, from February 7, 2024.

Consumers may hold up to small price increase of around 11c/l for petrol ULP95, 14c/l for ULP93 and 9c/l for diesel, the Automobile Association (AA) said.

Illuminating paraffin shows a slight decrease of approximately 3c/l.

“A weaker rand against the US dollar would have the biggest impact on the outlook for oil, albeit slightly.”

A weaker rand will raise expectations. AA also said international oil prices were more stable but this was having a negative impact, causing paraffin wax prices.

Drivers are advised to add a little more to their fuel budget in February. The price increase is expected to come into force on February 7.

On January 3, South African drivers received good news for the new year. Gasoline without aluminum loss 76 cents/litre.

The wholesale price of diesel with a sulfur content of 0.005% has fallen by R1.26/litre, and the wholesale price of diesel with a sulfur content of 0.05% has fallen by R1.18/litre. Lightening paraffin reduced R1.24 / l.
