Makurdi-Otukpo-9th Mile Road set to commence construction

Senator Dave Umahi, The Minister of Works, has commenced the second phases construction of the Makurdi-Otukpo-9th Mile Road.
Umahi said the Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, had paid him a visit in his office to request the construction of a flyover and execution of other road project’s in the state.
In a response, Benue State Governor Alia said the roads will create an enabling atmosphere for economic activities to thrive.
He announced the start of the second phase of the construction and dualization of the 9th Mile Road.
Umahi announced the approval of the construction of the flyover at Wurukum junction in Makurdi, Benue State, during a ceremony held at Apir near Makurdi on Thursday.

He said the projects were in line with President Tinubu’s agenda to bring renewed hope to Nigeria.
Umahi added that the Governor of Benue State, Father Hyacinth Alia, visited his office to demand the construction of flyovers and other roads in the state.
Umahi emphasis that concrete pavements will be used for construction without inferior standards to ensure optimal performance.
In his response, Governor Alia of Benue said the road would create a good environment for business to thrive.
Alia also said that farmers can reach the market through good roads and passengers can easily reach the market.
He added that the flyover from Wurukum junction will give a new look to the State Capital and reduce traffic congestion at the foot of the Makurdi bridge.

It was reported by Daily Post, that the government has approved for construction and development the 560 kilometers road which will be financed by the Export-Import Bank of China in cooperation with Nigeria government.
