Tragic Road Accident in Ibadan Claims Five Lives

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of at least five unidentified passengers in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The incident occurred on Friday along the Iwo Road-Ojoo expressway, involving a commercial Micra car and a truck.
Eyewitnesses described the collision as devastating, with the identities of the victims, including the Micra driver, yet to be determined.
“Their dead bodies were evacuated by the government relevant agencies that midnight and taken to an undisclosed morgue within the Ibadan metropolis.”
The Oyo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), represented by Rosemary Alo, confirmed the accident. She urged motorists to avoid reckless driving, particularly over speeding, which often leads to avoidable tragedies.
Mrs. Alo emphasized the need for strict compliance with traffic rules, especially in areas with ongoing road construction.
She advised drivers to observe diversions and exercise patience to prevent similar occurrences.
“In areas where construction works are ongoing, commercial vehicle owners and other road users must adhere strictly to the diversions placed and ply the road with patience no matter the time of the day.
One person died on Thursday at Idi-Ose, while five people died, and one person sustained an injury at the General Gas area opposite the NNPCL filling station. Six others escaped unhurt.” Mrs. Rosemary said
