FRSC and State Government Responses
- Enforcement Intensified: FRSC has deployed additional patrol units to Abuja–Lokoja and Benin–Ore corridors.
- Awareness Campaigns: “Don’t Overtake in the Rain” campaign rolled out in Lagos and Ogun States.
- Blackspot Interventions: Road repairs initiated on 5 flagged danger zones, though progress remains slow.
RoadKing.ng Editorial Take
Numbers alone don’t save lives — action does.
Until:
- Speed limit enforcement is technology-driven,
- Blackspots receive structural repairs,
- And drivers receive consistent safety education,
…the statistics for August may not look much different.
