Accident in Ore-Benin claims 4 lives

A tragic incident has occurred along the Sagamu-Ore-Benin expressway, resulting in the loss of four lives.
The Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that this unfortunate accident took place at the Ijebu-Ode axis of the highway on Friday.
According to the FRSC Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, the accident involved a Toyota Camry, car bearing the registration number BDG 184 FY.
It has been determined that the driver of the aforementioned vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed, leading to a loss of control over the wheels, ultimately crashing into a swamp.
All occupants of the vehicle, consisting of three adult males and one adult female, have tragically lost their lives in this unfortunate incident.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families and loved ones affected by this devastating accident.
“The suspected cause of the lone crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control. The vehicle veered off the road and somersaulted into a swamp.
“The corpses of the deceased were taken to the State General Hospital morgue in Ijebu-Ode”, Florence Okpe said.
Okpe also added that, the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, advises drivers on long journeys to always take a 15-minute break after a 4-hour journey to avoid fatigue while driving and comply with the speed regulation.
