Benz car runs into a 40ft container Truck

It has been confirmed by the Permanent Secretary of the LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, that a tragic accident occurred in the Iyana-Isolo area of Lagos State on Sunday night.

Regrettably, no fewer than three individuals lost their lives in a vehicular collision with a truck.

The unfortunate event transpired at approximately 11 pm, as reported by Oke-Osanyintolu.

Following a preliminary investigation conducted by the LASEMA team, it was determined that a Benz car, allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with a 40ft container-laden truck.

The force of the impact resulted in a fire outbreak, causing three male victims of the accident to suffer fatal burns, rendering them unidentifiable.

In light of this distressing occurrence, it is imperative for all road users to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

LASEMA boss said, “In its swift and prompt response to emergencies and disasters, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, deployed its response team at Cappa Base, Oshodi, to a distress call regarding a road traffic accident at Iyana-Isolo inward Oshodi at about 2330hrs of Sunday night, May 26, 2024.

“Consequent upon arrival at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a Benz car, while on top speed, rammed into a truck laden with a 40ft container.

“The impact of the collision resulted in a fire outbreak with passengers trapped inside the Benz car. Further enquiry revealed the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the incident occurred. Unfortunately, three adult males were burnt beyond recognition.”

He mentioned that emergency personnel successfully extinguished the fire and removed the vehicles from the road to prevent a potential follow-up catastrophe.
