In accordance with the report provided by Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer of Abia State, it has been confirmed that a tragic accident occurred on the Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway in Umueneochi Local Government Area.

The unfortunate event resulted in the loss of three lives. The incident took place on Friday, May 17, as officially documented by the Abia Police Command.

The detailed account reveals that a truck, while navigating a descent along a slope, tragically veered out of control.

This loss of control led to the destruction of two military barricades that were intended to serve as a means to stabilize the truck’s movement.

The driver’s attempt to utilize the barricades as a method of securing the truck proved unsuccessful due to the unforeseen circumstances that unfolded during the descent.

The Abia Police Command, under the guidance of Maureen Chinaka, diligently provided this information to the public through an official statement released on Thursday, May 16.

It is imperative to acknowledge the gravity of the situation and exercise caution when traversing similar routes to prevent the recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
