Angry people in Edo State beat officers to death

It’s reported that two police officers, who were assigned to escort duty, were tragically beaten to death, while two others sustained injuries as a result of a violent incident in Ikpeshi, located in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The unfortunate event transpired subsequent to a collision involving a pickup truck affiliated with the aforementioned police officers who were providing escort services for former Edo House of Assembly member, Emmanuel Agbaje.

The collision occurred with a motorcycle, leading to the untimely demise of the rider, identified as a woman, along with her child.

Following this distressing occurrence, it has been disclosed that individuals from the youthful demographic of the Ikpeshi community proceeded to pursue the police officers involved in the accident, ultimately subjecting them to fatal physical assault.

Two additional escort duty policemen were, nonetheless, rescued by members of the Edo State Vigilante Network within the vicinity.

Presently, they are receiving medical care at an undisclosed medical facility within Edo State.
