On Tuesday, in Utako District of Abuja, an incident occurred involving a collision between a pregnant woman’s car and the FRSC Hilux Van.

The collision took place while FRSC officials were in pursuit of an erring driver.

The car involved in the collision was being driven by a man named Bashir Bashir, who was on his way to convey his pregnant wife, Olabisi, to her office.

The FRSC Hilux Van, being a vehicle designated for road safety operations, was engaged in the pursuit of an erring driver at the time of the collision.

The pursuit was carried out in accordance with the FRSC’s mandate to ensure the safety and compliance of road users.

However, regrettably, this pursuit resulted in the collision with the car driven by Mr. Bashir.

Mr. Bashir, a responsible individual, was in the process of fulfilling his duty as a husband by escorting his pregnant wife to her workplace.

The purpose of their journey was to ensure the well-being and convenience of Mrs. Olabisi, who is expecting a child.

It is unfortunate that their plans were disrupted due to the collision.

Bashir said, “We were coming from Lugbe to work. The road safety officials always stay at the junction.

When I was approaching the junction, there was a vehicle in front of me. I discovered that they wanted to stop the car but the driver did not stop.

The road safety officials in their van started chasing the vehicle. We were in between the FRSC van and the vehicle being chased. Unfortunately, it was my car they (road safety) hit from behind.

“My pregnant wife is seven months gone. She has been taken to the hospital.”

In light of this incident, it is imperative for all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations.

It is the responsibility of every driver to prioritize the safety of themselves, their passengers, and other road users.

By doing so, we can collectively contribute to the reduction of road accidents and ensure the well-being of all individuals on the road.

In conclusion, the collision between the FRSC Hilux Van and the car driven by Mr. Bashir is a regrettable incident that highlights the importance of road safety.

It serves as a reminder for all drivers to be vigilant, follow traffic rules, and prioritize the safety of themselves and others.

Let us all strive to create a safer road environment for everyone.
