In the bustling city of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, a couple had a near-death experience when an articulated vehicle lost control and a massive container it was carrying toppled onto their car.

The accident occurred at the Ogbomoso High School area, leaving residents and passersby in shock.

The articulated vehicle, bearing a Nasarawa State registration number JZ 101 ZA, was traveling from the Oyo axis.

Meanwhile, the couple’s car, identified by its Lagos State number plate, was parked along the roadside as they had stepped out to purchase some items.

Only minutes earlier, the car had been occupied by the couple.

Trouble began when the trailer driver, in an attempt to avoid a collision with an oncoming bus, swerved dangerously.

The bus driver reportedly distracted by his mobile phone, veered into the trailer’s path, forcing the truck driver to make a sudden maneuver.

This action destabilized the vehicle, causing the heavy container to dislodge and crash onto the parked car.

An eyewitness, who was among the first on the scene, described the incident as nothing short of miraculous.

“It’s unbelievable that the couple had just stepped out of the car moments before the container fell. They would’ve been crushed if they had stayed a minute longer,” the eyewitness recounted, visibly shaken.

At the time of this report, the car remained pinned beneath the massive container.

Emergency responders and concerned locals were seen trying to assess the situation, but the sheer weight of the container posed a significant challenge.

The couple, though visibly traumatized, escaped unharmed, while the recklessness of the bus driver remained a talking point among those gathered at the scene.

Residents of the area lamented the increasing recklessness of road users, particularly drivers of heavy-duty vehicles and buses.

Many called on authorities to enforce stricter safety regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
