Governor Alia’s Convoy Claims Life, Sparks Controversy

The convoy of Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia reportedly caused two accidents yesterday in his hometown of Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government, leaving one man dead and others injured.
The first incident occurred as the Governor was traveling to celebrate Christmas with his community, when one of the vehicles in his motorcade fatally struck a local resident. Hours later, a second accident took place at the same location as the convoy returned to Makurdi.
Governor Alia’s motorcade, said to be the largest and most expensive in Benue’s history, has raised eyebrows for its size, consisting of over 20 vehicles.
Meanwhile, public discontent is growing over the closure of two major relaxation parks in Makurdi by the state government.
Entrepreneurs and shop owners have decried the move, citing significant losses during the festive season, while some view it as a setback to economic growth in the state
