As Road construction begins, Residents of Warri express joy

The residents who traverse the bustling Warri roads in Delta State are currently experiencing profound joy over road construction.

This elation stems from the recent mobilization of Julius Berger, a construction engineering company, to the designated construction site.

On October 18, 2023, Delta Gov’t and Julius Berger both signed a contract worth N78billion for the construction.

Eng. Fred Edafiogho, Perm. Sec. Delta State Ministry of Works, who made the announcement at the Government House in Asaba, said;

the contract was for the design and construction of flyover bridge at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate.

As well as study, design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the section of the DSC/NPA Expressway.

Also from Effurun roundabout to DSC roundabout including construction of a 3/4 Cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges”.

They are to embark on the construction of flyover bridges and the expansion of roads in the twin metropolis of Delta State.

Julius Berger then mobilized to DSC roundabout where their objective was to initiate the construction of three flyovers and others.

The integral components of the State Governor’s plan for infrastructure development and urban renewal in Warri, Uvwie, and it’s surroundings.

Although the planning and demarcation of the roads has been successfully completed by Julius Berger, as confirmed by Emmanuel Oghorodje, a supervising Engineer from the State Ministry of Works.

Mr. Oghorodje, who was present to ensure the smoothness of the operation, expressed confidence in the company’s ability to deliver the projects as scheduled.

This confidence is bolstered by the commitment of the State Government to ensuring their speedy completion.

To mitigate traffic congestion during the construction works, measures have been put in place.

Mr. Oghorodje urges road users to follow instructions and obey the traffic officers, thereby contributing to the reduction of traffic jams on the road.

The commendations for Gov. Oborevwori’s projects are not in short supply, particularly from motorists who anticipate the completion.

Additionally, traders are full of praises, recognizing the potential increase economic activities it will bring once the projects is finalized.
