In a recent viral video, a Toyota Sienna driver was seen lying in a pool of blood after a fight with FRSC officers between Issele-Azagba and Otulu areas on the Asaba-Benin Expressway.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers attached to the Delta State Command reportedly roughed up a commercial driver on Monday night, leaving his face swollen. The incident took place in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.

They dragged the driver from the vehicle and started beating him while other passengers were shouting and calling on passersby to come to his rescue.” – eyewitness said

Earlier the driver’s vehicle was obstructed by the FRSC vehicle. It is important to note that the actions of those involved in the altercation are in direct contradiction to the service orientation of the FRSC, and as such, disciplinary measures should be taken against them.

Another eyewitness said, “the driver was coming from the eastern part of the country and was headed to Lagos when the officials stopped his Sienna and descended on him, along the Onitsha-Asaba expressway”.

In a display of the FRSC’s commitment to the well-being of all individuals involved, Mr. Eshet, the sector commander, confirmed that the driver is currently in good health.

The command has taken the necessary steps to support him in receiving the required medical treatment.

The FRSC, Delta State Command, temporarily suspended any booking operations in specific areas of the state, namely the Asaba-Benin Road and the bridge head from the Onitsha axis.
