Okada Rider Killed as Speeding Benz Crashes into Pharmacy

In Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, a tragic accident occurred on Saturday afternoon around 2 PM, claiming the life of an unidentified commercial motorcycle (Okada) rider.

The accident took place near Osuntokun Junction, Bodija, opposite Zenith Bank, when a speeding black Mercedes saloon car lost control and crashed into a pharmacy store.

The impact of the crash destroyed the pharmacy and damaged two other vehicles parked outside, belonging to customers.

According to an eyewitness, the Mercedes, which was reportedly overspeeding, veered from Osuntokun Avenue, crossed the main Bodija-UI road, and rammed into the pharmacy near Grandex stores.

The Okada rider, who was dropping off a passenger at the pharmacy, died instantly.

His body was retrieved from the wreckage inside the store and transported to the University College Hospital (UCH) morgue.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained severe injuries and was rushed to UCH for treatment.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stated they would provide further details soon.
