Bandits Attacked travellers and kidnap Expatriate in Zamfara

Travelers in Zamfara State find themselves abandoned on the highway as armed bandits obstruct the route and assault those using it.

In a recent attack, a police officer lost his life, while an expatriate and numerous travelers, including some employees of a construction company, were taken hostage by these armed assailants in the region.
This alarming event unfolded on Thursday morning when the heavily armed group blocked the often-busy Tsafe – Funtua road for several hours, creating a dangerous situation for those attempting to pass.

One survivor recounted the experience to TVC News, revealing that the terrorists had set up an ambush along the route, opening fire on any vehicles that attempted to move through the area.
Among those targeted was a Toyota RAV 4 Jeep carrying the expatriate, which endured an attack that left a police officer assigned to protect a VIP dead on the spot.

In the chaos, the bandits managed to kidnap the expatriate along with several other travelers, taking them away from the scene.
This incident highlights the growing insecurity in the area, leaving many fear-stricken and stranded.
