One dead, four injured in a crash at Anambra State
A passenger has been confirmed dead while four others sustained various degrees of injuries in a fatal accident that occurred on the Ihiala-Owerri road in Anambra State.
Thursday’s incident involved three vehicles: a Nissan commercial bus with the license plate “JJT-57XX” and two semi-trucks without license plates.
According to witnesses, the bus driver was dropping off passengers in front of a bakery when a trailer collided with the bus, causing the bus to somersault, killing one passenger and injuring four others.
“The two trailers were coming from behind with excessive speed trying to overtake each other, as a result, the trailer hit the bus on an electric pole and the bus somersaulted and crashed.
“The two trailers zoomed off without stopping,” – eye witness
