According to the Ghana Police Service, he was apprehended in Ghana after fleeing Nigeria.
The tragic case began in early November 2025: Lasisi and her daughter were declared missing after she failed to return home when expected following her duties.
Investigations by the Nigeria Police Force and allied agencies tracked the suspect across borders, leading to his arrest in Ghana.
Authorities in Ghana say Fajemirokun was traced to a friend’s apartment, following circulation of a video alleging his involvement in the killings.
According to investigations, Lasisi met with the suspect and others and went to the home of a traditional herbalist in Osun State.
Reports indicate that the herbalist confessed his involvement: he claimed that Fajemirokun and associates planned the act and that they killed and dismembered the officer. Her daughter was also allegedly abducted and later taken to a bush where she was killed.
The suspect had been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command regarding his alleged role in the abduction and murder of Lasisi and her child.
The Ogun State Police Command officially declared Fajemirokun wanted at a point, while the herbalist was arrested during police operations according to public safety sources.
Following the suspect’s arrest in Ghana, Ghanaian officials said arrangements were being made for extradition to Nigeria for prosecution.
Autopsy and forensic tests have been mooted by authorities after the recovery of what are believed to be parts of Lasisi’s remains.
Samples are said to be deposited at the Osun State Teaching Hospital, Osogbo pending DNA confirmation.
RoadKing’s View: Safety & Service Implications
Lasisi was a serving FRSC officer, public servants who work to uphold traffic safety and order. Her killing is therefore shocking and affects morale across the service.
The alleged ritual-purpose motive highlights the dangerous threat of criminality targeting law enforcement and community safety professionals.
Cross-border police cooperation was crucial in this arrest, underlining the necessity of regional collaboration to tackle violent crimes.
RoadKing calls for swift prosecution to restore public trust, protection for officers on duty, and enhanced intelligence networks to prevent such tragedies.
