Driver in Benz Cause Multi-Car Crash on 3rd Mainland Bridge

Motorists on 3rd Mainland Bridge this afternoon were left shaken after a white Mercedes-Benz sedan, reportedly traveling over 130 km/h, weaved aggressively through tight lanes, nearly clipping multiple vehicles.
“The guy just cut across without checking his side mirror! I almost swerved into the lagoon,” one commercial driver said in shock.
The near-miss occurred near the Ebute-Metta exit, during a brief slowdown in traffic. Two vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a bus, nearly collided as they tried to avoid the Benz.
No Arrest, But Lagos State Taskforce Alerted
Although there was no physical crash, the reckless maneuver was caught on dashcam and shared online. Multiple road safety pages have tagged @followlastma and @TrafficChiefNG demanding immediate investigation and license revocation.
Eyewitnesses noted that the car had no visible plate number, raising concerns of a possible unregistered or diplomatic vehicle.

RoadKing.ng Insight
Reckless drivers are not just a nuisance, they’re a public safety threat. Without enforcement and public shaming, this behavior will escalate. Our roads aren’t race tracks.
What We Recommend:
- Deploy bridge patrols during peak hours
- Use surveillance footage for ticketing repeat offenders
- Launch a public naming campaign to deter dangerous behavior
- Enforce mandatory driving school retraining. 3rd mainland bridge.
