Road construction at top speed in Aba-Port Harcourt Highway
Gov Alex Otti, the pace of work remains high as promised, following the announcement by the Abia State Governor on October 13, 2023 of the construction of the 6.8km Aba- Port Harcourt Expressway.
Julius Berger plans to rebuild roads and build flood protection structures in the area, which is part of the Uratta, Ohabiam and Ndiegoro flood-prone areas, within 18 months.
Tobias Meletschus, Julius Berger’s director of corporate development, said the company is committed to completing the first phase of the highway and installing appropriate flood protection mechanisms to “finally address the flooding problem in the region”. He said he has been working on it.
The Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway was one of Dr. Alex Otti promise during the pre election campaign trail. He promised to permanently repair abandoned roads and revive economic activity in long-abandoned areas.
